Trending on top of the pet owners’ 2018 Christmas wish list is a treat-dispensing dog camera. With nearly 1,700 positive reviews on Amazon, Furbo dog camera is one of the sought-after gadgets in the pet industry today. It allows owners to talk and monitor their furry companion whilst they are left home alone. In addition to that, you can even toss out treats to your dog. So, is Furbo a worthy buy?

What can a Furbo dog camera do?

  • Treat-tossing camera
The Furbo dog camera can provide a live feed as a security camera video when you are away from home. But what makes Furbo remarkable and an exciting gadget is its capability to be used as a treat dispenser. Give away treats through the Furbo app by swiping in desired directions. Make sure to let your dog know when a dog treat is coming their way by calling his name via its built-in microphone.
  • Two-way audio
Have a verbal interaction with your pooch via the Furbo dog camera. As it has a two-way microphone, you can hear him as well as the other way around. A few commands and a sense of comfort can be well-delivered to his end. For instance, when your pooch starts barking, you can verbally comfort him even from afar or toss him some treats as a distraction. In no time, you may have a dog looking forward to hearing the Furbo’s command.
  • Live-streaming video
Ever wonder what your dogs do when left alone? One of its features includes a wide field of view on a live feed. It also allows you to take a closer look at your pooch for a 4x zoomed-in view. You only need to adjust screen zoom in the app.
  • Barking alert
Having barking problems with your canine? The Furbo app will notify you as soon as it happened. It comes with microphone barking detectors. You can also adjust notifications whether to turn it on or off through the Furbo app settings.
  • Captures photo and video
It is one click away from capturing pictures and video of your dog’s odd-orable candid moments in a wide field of view since it has a wide angle lens. Show off these moments on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or in other platforms—your dog just might be the next furry celebrity in the world of social media. On top of all these cool features, Furbo comes with a built-in infrared LED filter. The night vision capability allows capturing moments or providing live feed even in low lights or at night.

How to get started

Furbo is relatively easy to set up with only three instructions to follow. Download the Furbo app through the App Store and Google Play. Sync the app with your Furbo device. As soon as you open the app, an on-screen complete instruction will light up.

Each light has its own indication:

  • White – Device is starting up
  • Green – Device is now ready for a complete setup
  • Purple – Not connected to Wi-Fi
  • Yellow – Standby or sleep mode
  • Blue – Furbo is in use

Know that dogs can see the colours blue and yellow. This means with training and time, he will come to know that you are using Furbo or not with the light signs.
