Merlin is looking for a new home, sadly my mums health has taken a very unexpected turn for the worse and due to hospital visits and treatments etc Merlin will be left at home alone alot and it's just too much for my mum to handle right now so he is temporarily with me and my family He's a wonderful boy who is very playful and loving however it's on his terms and is still shy, they've had him from 9 weeks old and he's been such a delight to have, he has been living as the only cat and with no children until he came to us he doesn't really get on with my cats nor my 4 year old as he is a shy cat so I would say he would be suited to a home with no other cats/dogs and a home with older children He has been fully healtj checked wormed and fleaed but hasn't been neutered yet as he is too young but fully litter trained, he hasn't had vaccines yet as there is currently a shortage on them and our vets can only offer so many vaccines each month but he was due on 28th March He must go to a loving home and with someone who has knowledge of having cats so please expect to be asked questions from us, Merlin is loved dearly and we are really heart broken so we will only let him go to a very loving home , he will come with his toys, bed,scratcher, bed, food, litter tray etc you will need a cat carrier to take him home in though

PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE CONTACTING Oreo is 15 months old as of today (8/2/22) and is a black haired domestic cat. He is from a loving home, but due to him scratching my children when they come to me, I am having little choice but to find a new home for him, as well as me not having nowhere near enough time to give him the 1-2-1 attention he needs and deserves. I will not permit him to just go with the first person who asks for him, I want to ensure he is going to a home where nobody will harm him or put him in harms way. As I stated, he does scratch my children, but I wouldn't say he isn't good with children, my children are always around him, grabbing him (the baby), nagging him etc and I feel this may be him saying he wants them to leave him alone, but unfortunately, none of them are at a point of understanding that 1) Oreo doesn't like it and 2) A baby doesn't understand that Oreo doesn't want to be grabbed. I believe with the right care and attention he will be someone's best friend. As stated earlier, there is no first come first serve basis, I will contact people by email asking a number of questions, and following my conversations with Cats Protection who purely do not have the room for him, I am fully within rights to request what I am requesting which will include the following: - Do you have children - Do you have other animals - Can you offer Oreo the time, care and attention he needs - Name and Address of vets practice he will be registered at and permission given for me to check on required appointments for a period of 1 year and ensure his health and well-being is well maintained. - I will require proof of your name and address and I will explain why - If for any reason, I make contact with vets who have concerns about Oreo's wellbeing, I will make a referral to the RSPCA. There will be more, but please don't think I'm being horrible, I have had him since he was 5 weeks old and I love him to pieces, I have no doubt he can be somebody's best friend but I know there are not very nice people out there and I want to ensure wherever he goes, he will be safe and looked after. My 9 year old daughter chose him, and she has also said I have to make sure he goes to a good home. I really hope you see that my requests about a future owner are purely to ensure Oreo's wellbeing and safety.
