Norwegian Forest Cat for Rehoming

Salford, Greater Manchester | 20th Aug 2019 (1 day ago) | Cats For Sale by Private Seller

I am a dedicated hobby breeder of the amazing Norwegian Forest Cat and am registered with the GCCF ( a cat governing body in the UK). I am accepted into their "Responsible Breeder Scheme" which entitles me to use their logo as seen above. I have 3 gorgeous kittens which are purebred, Mother and non-related Father are owned by myself. Cream Silver Tabby boy (Teddy) Blue Silver Tabby boy with white (Kenzo).... Now Booked Blue Silver Tortie Tabby girl with white (Tula) The large cats pictured are Mum (Blue silver tortie tabby with white) & Dad (Blue with white) Should you wish to own one of my kittens but are scheduled to go on holiday, I am more than happy to continue taking care of them at no extra cost, until such time that you are home and resettled, ready to welcome your kitten into it's forever home. My kittens will be fully vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, microchipped, have had 2 vet health checks and have 5 weeks free insurance with Agria Pet Insurance, which is approved by the GCCF and commences on the day of collection. When my kittens leave me they are fully loaded with wet/dry kitten food that they are currently eating, a scent blanket with home & family scents on it, toys, GCCF registration certificate and anything else I can think of including at the time. PLEASE READ BELOW:- My cats and kittens live in the home with me although my son says it's the other way around - they've taken over and I live with them! My kittens are raised under foot and all fully socialised with the receiving of kisses and cuddles on a daily basis being mandatory - whether they want them or not! I raise my kittens on tuna, sardines, white fish, chicken breast and quality wet/dry commercial foods to ensure that they get the best start possible. I usually begin weening them at 3.5 / 4 weeks of age as I find by this time Mother's milk is not enough. They are meant to be big muscular cats therefore they need a lot of protein and simply trying to let them survive on Mother's milk alone (as some unscrupulous breeders would do) is not practical nor is it ethical. It also allows the Mother to begin to regain her own strength and condition, especially if she has had a medium/large litter. The kittens continue to have access at any time to their Mother's milk as and when they want it. In the later stages it is more of a comfort when going off for a catnap! I prefer that my kittens go to indoor homes and/or have access to an outside run/catio or cat-proofed garden. If you let them out you will loose them either to Road Traffic Accident or to unscrupulous members of the public who would think nothing of taking home a pretty & super friendly cat they "find" roaming the street. My kittens are never sold for breeding purposes so please do not ask me. I expect you to have your kitten spayed/neutered within 6 months of age - this is a specific term of purchase, and I will only provide you with a Pedigree once I receive proof from a vet that this has taken place. They will be registered with the GCCF on the Non-Active register which means that should any breeding take place whether, whether it be mistaken or intended, their progeny will never be able to be registered as a Pedigree cat. BE AWARE OF ANYONE TRYING TO SELL UNREGISTERED CATS - ie THEY HAVE NO PAPERS. These kittens could be crossbreeds or kittens that have been bred from a cat where the original breeder specified at purchase, that now owner was not allowed to do so, as part of their contract of sale. It is unethical for the current seller to be doing this and this is how back street breeders spring up. They care nothing about the preservation of this amazing Original Breed of cat and the standards that have to be adhered to in order to preserve it. Sorry to preach on about this but it is not fair to the breed nor to those who strive to protect the Norwegian Forest Cat and help it to continue. The Norwegian Forest cat is very special in that it is an "Original" breed ie, not engineered by man to look the way it does. It's look and skeletal stature have developed over hundreds of years due the the environment that it has lived in. There are only a handful of breeds left in the world that can lay claim to being original. The breed almost became extinct but was saved by a handful of dedicated breeders in Norway in the late 1940's early 1950's. Earlier attempts were made by them in the 1930's unfortunately, WW II put a halt to this. I will always be available for you to contact through out the lifetime of your kitten, for advice/support etc. Please do contact me for further and better information, I am very easy to chat to and happy to answer any questions you may have about my kittens and the breed in general.
