Ideal Home Bertie could live with another dog, however, the dog will need to be able to cope with his playfulness. His new family will need to be willing to do some work with Bertie with regard to training and socialization. He will chase most things, so working on recall is a must and the new family should be prepared to have to keep him on a lead on some walks. He would live with children 10+ Breed Description Like most Salukis, Bertie would enjoy a good snooze in front of the fire in between racing around the garden. Being young, he is still learning but is bright eager to learn more so dog training classes would be strongly advised. He, like many Lurcher types has a strong prey drive so it’s important that this is channeled in the right way Important Stuff About Me: Bertie came into us as sadly his owner could no longer care for him. He is a know escape artist, so it is vital his new home has a secure garden with minimum 6ft fences. He is a happy little chap who appears to get on with everyone and everything. Like most young dogs, he does need some more basic training and socialization, and the staff and volunteers here are already helping him with this. He loves to play with other dogs, but can be a bit full on, so needs to learn that not every dog wants to play at 213mph. He really is a cracking dog, who needs someone who will have time to help him settle in a new environment and that sometimes you just need to slow down a little bit.
