Pepe, what a wonderful cheeky boy he is. Not the best start in life being born in a kill shelter but thankfully he is safe in foster now and every day this lovely boys confidence is growing. He is still wary of humans when he firsts meets them and having friendly confident dogs around him has helped him so much. With Pepe it is very much on his own terms, he is not the type of pup to coming running up to you when he first meets you, he likes to stand back and watch you, judging if you are an ok human or not. when he does trust you he really is just incredible but just needs that time and patience to allow him to get to know you. A typical pup in every way, he is into everything, playful, loves his toys and fuss time. He is clean in the home ,can be a bit of a chewer like all pups but as long as supervised and has his chews he is perfect. Pepe is crate trained, during the day if his foster mum has to pop out he goes in and just settles down. Bed time at the moment is being worked on as he doesnt like the door closed at night but with it open will toddle in and out of his crate/bed when he wants to and is a very well behaved little fella. On the lead he is not so great, so currently is being trained to walk on the harness which he is more acceptable of even though he is still nervous he is slowly getting there. This is a work in progress and more training is needed but he is getting better day by day and considering up until just over a month ago he was in a kill shelter he is actually doing amazingly. Pepe gets along with every dog he meets, he is very curios with the cats in his foster home and has yet to learn that cats really do not like their bottoms sniffed. We think when he is older the husky in him may become too much for cats to live with, for this reason only we advise a home with friendly dogs most certainly but would avoid a home with a cats. What Pepe needs is a forever home most certainly where there is another friendly and confident dog as Pepe is very much a follower and learns more from the dogs around him than the humans. The humans in his forever home need to be experienced with rescue dogs, to have the understanding to not expect too much overnight and allow this sweet boy the time to grow in confidence and spend time gaining his trust. Pepe loves, and we mean LOVES it when his foster mummy is relaxing on the sofa watching TV, when the lights are low and the other dogs are chilling or asleep. It is then that Pepe decides he wants his own special fuss time, and boy he revels in the one on one attention he gets. It is like fussing a mini bear. As we have said it is all on Pepe's terms, with time and patience this amazing boy will grow into the most loyal and incredible dog a family could wish for. Pepe is: Chipped Castrated Fully Vaccinated Dewormed Deflead Vet Checked if adopted comes with: 4 weeks free insurance (Triggered by adopter) Free chip reg to adopter Full rescue back up for life
