Huskitas are a well-established cross breed and have been around since the 1900’s. They are very popular in the USA and have been slowly making their way into people’s homes in the UK as well. They combine the loyalty of a Japanese Akita with the enthusiasm and friendliness of a Siberian husky, making this breed far more manageable and easily trainable that the original breeds. They come in a wide range of colours and markings, each unique. They average lifespan is 12-14 years , height average of 50cm and weight of 27kg – 35kg when adults. They are stunning looking dogs, with great health characteristic of the mix breeding, confident and with a balanced energy. We have been happy to welcome a beautiful litter of seven F1b Bordoodles, born on 2nd May 2023 into our home. Mum is Willa our much loved family pet, a five year old Toy Bordoodle, who can be viewed with her litter. She is well trained and loves to do tricks (which she learns super fast) and is very affectionate. She absolutely loves people and also gets on well with other dogs and children. Dad (Izzy) is a KC Registered Red Miniature Poodle and also a much loved family pet with a fantastic temperament. He has been extensively health tested (copies of which are available) and is fully clear of any DNA health issues, so this means the pups will not inherit any genetic illnesses. Both Mum and Dad are fit and healthy and have excellent temperaments. They both stand about 16" tall at the shoulder, so we expect the puppies to grow to a similar size, with an expected adult weight of approximately 12-15kgs. Bordoodles have a super-friendly nature, mixing the playfulness of a Border Collie and individuality of a Poodle. Being the two smartest dog breeds in the world, the intelligence and trainability of Bordoodles is very high. They are ideally suited to a family environment and are very people oriented, and thrive at being challenged with their training so are ideal for those wanting to do agility, obedience and therapy work. They love to interact with children and this is already showing in the pups at 3 weeks of age. After heartfelt discussions and many tears, we have made the difficult decision to find a new loving home for our beloved 2.5-year-old dachshund cross, Millie. Millie is a delightful companion who thrives in the company of other dogs, regardless of their size or shape. She has grown up alongside our son, who is the same age as her, although we believe she will be better suited to a household without young children. The reason behind our decision to rehome Millie is that since both of us have returned to work (Millie joined the family during my maternity leave), she has found it very challenging when left alone for extended periods of time during the day. She doesn't cope well with solitude, shows high anxiety and can sometimes exhibit protective behaviour when encountering strangers, especially men.
