We are sadly looking for a new home for our beagle, Penny.
Penny is a lovely girl but unfortunately displays a lot of resource guarding behaviour which can become quite aggressive . Although we have had no incidents of biting, they’re has been growling, snarling, and snapping when we try to retrieve items she has stolen or shouldn’t have.
Penny has typical young beagle energy and loves to run and play all day - Penny’s behaviour is only an issue when resource guarding occurs.
Penny can be left alone for up to 4 hours (she shows no signs of separation anxiety) and is always so happy to meet people and other dogs. Penny is very sociable with other dogs and loves to play. Penny can go off lead and recalls (most of the time!!) well. She is honestly a pleasure to walk and play with.
We adore Penny but her resource guarding is becoming increasingly concerning around our children - we feel Penny needs a home with more time to commit to training and with no children in the house. I believe Penny would also be better in an environment with other dogs for company and to keep her busy.
Penny is not spayed and had a season approx 2 months ago. We are NOT willing to let Penny to go to someone for breeding unless she will also be offered a loving home too.
Penny is crate trained and will happily sleep in her crate overnight - we do not crate Penny during the day and she has the run of a large hallway, stairs and landing when left alone. Penny has never been destructive when left alone.
Please only contact us if you feel you can seriously take on Penny and deal with her behaviour - we want her to have a happy life where she can get the love and attention she deserves.
Penny will come with her own crate, blankets and her favourite toys.
Penny is up to date with flea and worming treatment and will come with worming and flea treatments for the next 2 months.
Vaccinations up to date - record available.
Penny is currently in CV7 but can also be available in GU7 if required.

Be extra cautious with online transactions!
We encourage you to read these guidelines before buying or adopting a dog.
Carry out the research so you have the necessary knowledge of the pet you are getting. Since owning a dog is a big commitment, you should research about the breed fully to make sure it fits your current lifestyle and budget.
Take time to visit the advertiser's home to confirm if they are genuine. Do not settle for online communications and photos. UK Pets does not verify the authenticity of all advertisers. The advertiser should allow you to personally see the puppies with the puppies' mother. If they keep on giving you excuses why you could not visit their home or the address stated in the advert is not the accurate and permanent location of the pet, consider this a red flag.
Never pay anything online through money transfer companies especially if you have not personally visited the advertiser and seen the puppy, this includes deposit and delivery cost for the puppy. There is also no means to recover your money if issues arise. Before closing a deal, you must have signed a well-defined contract.
The advertiser should only release the puppies when they are 8 weeks old or older. They should be responsible enough to know that separating the puppy from the mother earlier results in medical and behavioural issues.
If you have reasons to believe that an Advertiser is not genuine, please report them to us immediately.
