The increase in popularity of both the Standard and Miniature Dachshunds in the UK is simply phenomenal. It can be attributed largely to a spate of TV programmes and exposure in social media. It’s no wonder the sausage dogs have become a favourite among celebrities and regular folks.

However, caring for a Dachshund is a long-term commitment that comes with challenges. Before looking for a Miniature Dachshund puppy for sale, ask these 8 critical questions to gauge if you are ready to be a Dachshund owner.

How big can a Miniature Dachshund grow?

Just like the Standard Dachshund, the Mini Dachshund has a long body and short legs, this small dog breeds earned them the moniker ‘sausage dog’. Upon reaching maturity, the Miniature Dachshund is expected to grow to 13 to 18 centimetres in height and 3 to 5 kilograms in weight.

How much time can you commit?
